Job Purpose
To lead, develop, direct, and organize Structure section of Civil & Structure department in Power Business Unit (PBU). Lead the team in providing Structure engineering design of T&D, Water, Plants & Infrastructure projects from initiation to closing ensuring delivery through onshore and offshore design teams and in coordination with third parties, international partners and/ or sub-contractors.
Key Accountability Areas
Tender:
– Development of technical proposals and resource estimation to support Tender Dept./Engineering Manager.
Design & Development:
– Compliance with schedules, scope of work, and client obligations by effective management of the Section Engineers & Designers.
– Monitor and ensure compliance by the team for implementation of quality control, and client standards/codes during preparation of all technical documents/drawings from initiation up to as built to achieve desired and acceptable quality.
– Mentor, support and develop discipline resources to meet the project technical need, design innovation and research by ensuring suitable environment for personality development and career growth.
– Approval of construction drawings /reports/ documents.
– Engage with clients to ensure design deliveries are meeting client’s expectation.
Project Management:
– Support Engineering Manager in evaluation of subconsultant performance management.
– Support Engineering Manager / Project Manager in providing monthly progress reports and monitoring of deliverables, scope, and efficiency.
– Manage team communication with stakeholders (Client, Partners, Sub-consultants, and Third Parties.) and inter disciplinary teams for collaborated delivery of assigned scope for the Section.
– Monitor the workload, schedule, and analyze resource utilization w.r.t progress for the Section and provide appropriate report to Engineering Manager. Monitor budget (MHs) utilization, advise team for prompt invoicing, and take corrective action if any unfavorable variance is noted.
– Prompt project manager/coordinator on achieving milestone for the purpose of invoicing.
Delivery:
– Plans timely to deliver as per schedule. Ensures accuracy and timeliness of outputs. Anticipates any possible roadblocks that might come in the way of delivery and fixes them to meet timelines.

Requirements:
Qualifications/Requirements
– 15-18 years of experience in structural design and analysis of T&D, Water, Plants & Infrastructure projects along with team management experience or traits preferably with exposure in the Gulf Region projects. Minimum 5years in the role of managing a section with responsibility of quality, schedule, and delivery management.
– Bachelor’s degree in Structure Engineering with professional certifications/ accreditations.
– Good knowledge for the analysis and design of Structural design for LV/ MV/ HV/ EHV substations and transmission lines from base design, detail design to IFC stage for buildings, steel structures, equipment foundation and connection design.
– Knowledge of reviewing and guiding designers for the preparation of architectural, civil and structural drawings for building including Steel fabrication drawings.
– Good Knowledge of analysis and design of Infrastructure projects of solar plant, water pumping station and service utilities from concept design to IFC stage.
– Familiar with relevant codes & standards – American Concrete Institute (ACI), International Building Code (IBC), American Society of Structure Engineers (ASCE), Regional Standards, Quality and Metrology Organization (SASO), SEC standards etc.
– Strong understanding and working knowledge of design software – SAP, STAAD Pro, GT Strudel, MS Excel, drafting tools, 3D platform and document management systems.
– Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials and local regulations.
– Client coordination, ability to work independently and as a part of team.
– Strong knowledge in preparing specifications, basis of design, engineering alternative solutions, BOQs and Value engineering.
– Passionate about structural and Structure engineering. Be a creative leader in design and project management.
– Have excellent technical skills and be able to mentor staff in their own development and the development of projects.
– Excellent communication skills, both in presentation and documentation with a good command over English.
