The role-holder is responsible for leading and managing all associated mobile device business activities. Moreover, develops and drives the devices business; the integration, deployment and launch along-side wider service and product offering. Offers strategic and technological thought leadership and expertise on devices; ultimately ensuring the company becomes the First choice destination for mobile devices and services.
Manages the mobile Device Inventory, Forecasting & Ordering to maximize a healthy inventory to drive product sales. Drive & manage OO wholesale and distribution model maximizing revenue and build long lasting partnership in Oman and other countries. Is pro-active in understanding industry best practice as well as new industry innovations and trends and be able to mix, match and synthesize those together with the aspirations of the company to match opportunities with needs.
Product Strategy:
• Develop overall Mobile Devices Strategy with respect to new and existing products in the market.
• Coordinate with the OG on all Strategic Device Initiatives to ensure proper alignment of plans and programs with the group level plans.
• Achieve device Revenue KPIs as per AOP.
• Deliver best in class design for all OO touchpoints for devices.
• Deliver launch and OEM guidelines documents for all cross functional teams to support launches.
• Lead RFP and selection of partners / support eco system for devices.
• Analyze reports from market research and competition analysis to drive device partnership efficiencies.
• Manage all budgets allocated for devices and accessories and related products
Product Roadmap:
• Strategize, plan and execute device roadmap, which includes pricing, products, margin and logistics and recommend the future direction for devices.
• Develop and manage the device portfolio which satisfies the needs of various market segments.
• Understand segment needs and smartphone developments and recommend right strategies and priorities
Product Analysis
• Drive Market research, price and data analysis on devices.
• Understand Industry developments, competitor plans and positioning, and trends in customer demand and adoption for devices across segments.
• Prepare project dashboard for presentation to the management.
• Good understanding of device sales, demand cycle, annual launch cycle for Tier 1 and 2 OEM partners.
• Plan and execute launch of key new devices with Sales / Comms and Marketing.
• Develop and Present progress reports to management.
• Support the Trade channel and Retail in showcasing OO as the leader in devices and making OO a preferred destination for device
Product Development:
• Lead cross-functional teams to achieve product launch and ensure deadlines are met.
• Liaise with other functions, such as segments, Customer Service, Technology, Operation, Strategy and Finance to collect their inputs to product development process.
• Own and manage projects related to the devices and bundled offers in the market.
• Define detailed marketing requirements in the form of service specification documents based on value proposition briefs from Segment Managers.
• Project management of device launches working closely with Technology and Segment Managers.
• End to end management of testing of all new smartphones.
Performance Monitoring
• Responsible of the full product P&L including product business case definition
• Oversees Product performance management, ensuring Product objectives are met across the company
• Active monitoring, evaluating and reporting of the key KPIs
Requirements:
• 10+ years of experience in the telecoms industry, ideally with mobile operators or handset vendors.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in product management preferred
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in partnership management, distribution management design
• 3-year experience of managing teams
• Good understanding of device ecosystem
• Expertise in product management, partnership management, distribution management, and team leadership.
• Experience in working channels direct and indirect including online
• Significant knowledge of latest trends, innovation
• Track record of defining successful strategic visions based upon competitive analysis
• Track record of project execution through driving high quality cross functional teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic.
